Whether you’re a scholar, tradesman, or simply curious, research is an essential skill to master. However, many find it overwhelming and lack the necessary know-how. Fear not, this series will be your guide.
I understand the struggle of being a student, particularly in the developing world, and being desperate to publish research without being taken advantage of or spending excessive amounts of money. After going through a period of trial and error, I was able to start publishing my work in peer-reviewed journals in 2020. And in 2022, my work was featured in the COVID-19 research database of the WHO. Currently, I have more than 15 peer-reviewed papers under my name with ongoing projects in the works. I now want to share my insights and knowledge with you.
My mission with this series is to provide readers with a step-by-step guide on how to conduct research and create your own opportunities. I will share what I have learned about formulating a research question, identifying sources of information, analyzing data, to presenting findings. All for free. With this series, I hope to make science more accessible to all, especially to young researchers who may feel disheartened in the competitive world of scientific publishing. I am a firm supporter of equity and inclusivity in the realm of science. I firmly believe that every soul deserves equal opportunities and resources to pursue their scientific aspirations and achieve their goals.
My ultimate goal is to empower readers (and myself) to become confident researchers capable of producing reliable and valuable work. Please send me your queries or ideas, and I’ll craft thoughtful and informative posts around them. I want this to be a crowd-sourced and organic process.
